STILL

Alissa Moreno, Linda Moroziuk, Tedd Swormstedt

When I’d crawl in scared in the still of the night
When everything was dark and everyone was quiet
You’d hold me still
When I did something wrong and the teacher called you up
I knew that I was bad my heavy head was hung
You loved me still
The time you tried to hide a smile when I disappeared a while in grandpa’s still

In the still just before sunrise you’d wake me up for practice even before you’d pour your coffee I never had to ask
You’d smile still
My room still looks the same every trophy every  prize
You never took em off the wall didn’t think about it twice
Cuz you love me still

Though we didn’t have the money you bought me that piano
From that old goodwill store it was more than you could handle
And I play it still
And every time I fall from mountains
Or face the breaks of life
You somehow make me laugh
Still

That stoic look on your face and the way you stayed strong you were there for me when my baby brother was born
Still
The way you held us all together and through the tears we prayed
That God would take her home now
And grandma finally laid
Still
When everyone was gone we just turned on a show it’s your favorite still

I see you lying in this room doctors everywhere
I’m the one holding your hand it’s more than I can bear
You’re beautiful still
And every time I fall from mountains
Or face the breaks of life
You somehow make me laugh
Still

And even when this world takes you from me
I will love you still I will still believe
You’re not ever/really gone you’ll live inside of me forever
Until my soul is
Still
